Hi,there it has come to my attention that the Age of Autism is posting Autism "related" deaths on a blog that was created this is a blog to peacefully protest not only that blog,(which I refuse to release,its easily found on google though). I feel that they are stopping free speech by not allowing comments on the blog,as well they censor info there Age of Autism site. For those of you who don't know what Age of Autism is,its a website run by Generation Rescue,which doesn't really help Autistics at all, they just want a "cure" in favor of having the "perfect" or "normal" child which in the real world doesn't exist. I don't want to quash hope, just make everyone aware of the falsehoods that go on with these organizations so that people have more information to think p-AU-sitive about there situation. Remember that Autism doesn't kill people, People kill people. No wonder there is division within the Autism community, as someone with Asperger's who has Autism running the family (2 of my nephews also have it). I feel that those with Autism have negativity surrounding them everyday,we don't need more hate on these websites & blogs do we? Why don't the people running the blogs look at themselves first? I am not saying we live a utopia but its good to also hear some good news about Autism & how to work with it. THE BIGGEST LIE GOING AROUND IS THAT PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM ARE ALONE, I WANT TO REPEAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE! YOU JUST HAVE TO OPEN YOUR EYES & EARS,& DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Zoey, for creating this blog. I am following this. I abhor AoA and their fearmongering tactics and negativity towards us...they are an insult to the autism community and what we staznd for..which is common sense and acceptance and love towards each other.
